An Intermediate SSL Certificate (CA) is required by most SSL Certificate products and ensures that your SSL Certificate will work with all known browsers and devices.

We are no longer providing the CA Wizard and it is now important that you read your fulfillment e-mail correctly to ensure you install the correct Intermediate SSL Certificate (CA).

To simplify the installation process your Intermediate SSL Certificate (CA) will be included within your fulfillment e-mail.

In addition, your Intermediate SSL Certificate is available from within the Tracking area of our website.

An Intermediate SSL Certificate (CA) is required for all newly issued or replaced RapidSSL® products from 9 December 2010. This new feature ensures the ongoing stability of the RapidSSL® product.

We highly recommend the use of the Intermediate SSL Certificate (CA) to ensure your RapidSSL® product continues to function correctly with all known browsers and devices.

In the past our SSL Certificates were "Single Root", which meant that only the SSL Certificate and Private Key needed to be installed for the SSL Certificate to function correctly.

However, in 2010 Microsoft required all SSL Certificate issuers to strengthen the way SSL Certificates are issued and function.

Your SSL Certificate will continue to function the same way as it always has with the added benefit that it will be issued and function in a highly secure manner.

It's important to remember to install your SSL Certificate and corresponding Private Key as you always have done, with the addition now to also install the required Intermediate SSL Certificate (CA).

If your using a control panel or hosting company you'll just need to paste the provided Intermediate SSL Certificate (CA) into the area provided. For all other environments we recommend reviewing the Installation Instructions for detailed information.
